Dental implants are the strongest tooth replacement option available! They look and feel like your real teeth, and because they are fused to your jawbone, they can last a lifetime with proper care. No other restoration can offer such stability and strength. They are also very versatile and can attach to bridges or crowns to replace multiple missing teeth at once. If you want your smile to look its best for a lifetime, dental implants are your best option.

How to Care for Your Teeth After Getting Braces
Posted January 9, 2019 by Nicholas Calcaterra DDS
If you’re considering getting braces for yourself or your child, it’s important to know what to expect after treatment. Here’s some helpful advice on caring for your teeth after getting braces.
First Week of Braces
Your first week of braces will likely be uncomfortable due to the pressure they’re putting on the teeth and gums. Luckily, the discomfort will go away after a few days. Immediately following treatment, you may experience soreness, inflammation, and light bleeding of the gums. This is normal, but if it doesn’t go away after a couple of weeks of treatment, you should call us to schedule an appointment. In the meantime, it may help to stick to soft foods for the first few days and avoid eating anything hard that may damage the teeth or the appliances.
Caring for Braces and Appliances
During orthodontic treatment, patients must take great care of their appliances and their teeth to prevent problems and ensure a successful outcome. Here are some important tips to keep in mind:
• Brushing and eating: Patients should brush after every meal. It’s also important to floss regularly
Did you know that your gums are just as important for your smile as your teeth? If your gums are covering too much of your actual teeth, then your smile won’t be as attractive as it can be. A gum contouring treatment from your dentist solves this issue by removing excess gum tissue and exposing more of the actual tooth. This procedure is a great way to evenly balance your gum-to-tooth ratio so that your smile looks its best!
Here are four benefits of getting this cosmetic procedure from a cosmetic dentist in Marietta:
- Your smile will have a more even appearance. (Image source: It can significantly boost your oral health. (Image source: The procedure can be done quickly and safely. #1 – Teeth Whitening
Stained teeth can be lightened and brightened by several shades with professional teeth whitening treatment at your dentist’s office. This is the best way to whiten your teeth safely, as over-the-counter products are not nearly as effective when it comes to removing deep stains and yellowing. You can get dramatic results after a single appointment!
#2 – Dental Bonding
Short for “dental bonding”, this cosmetic dental treatment involves the application of a tooth-colored resin material to the surface of your tooth to improve its appearance. The resin material is hardened with a special light and then polished for a natural finish.
#3 – Tooth Contouring
If your teeth are worn or chipped, small imperfections can easily be repaired with tooth contouring, which reshapes the tooth’s enamel surface. It’s a simple procedure that can be completed in one visit.
#4 – Smile Makeover
This is the term used to describe the process of improving the appearance of multiple teeth, or even the entire smile, using a combination of different cosmetic dentistry techniques. A smile makeover is typically performed by a dentist who has received advanced training in restorative and cosmetic dentistry procedures.
#5 – Dental Crowns & Bridges
Both of these restorations are often referred to as “caps” because they fit over the top of damaged teeth to restore them to their natural shape and size. While they are different in the types of damage they repair, both dental crowns and bridges are custom-made to look natural and the materials used for both are very durable and meant to last for many years.

If your teeth are stained from foods, drinks, or other activities, professional teeth whitening treatments can help restore them to their brightest shades. These treatments can improve the color of teeth by several shades of white. Professional whitening treatments are often more effective than over-the-counter products due to the strength of the bleaches used and the expertise of the dentist. At-home kits can be effective but will only produce results after several treatments.
Many patients choose to combine in-office whitening with take-home trays for a faster result. Your dentist can make custom molds to fit your teeth perfectly and ensure an even application each time. Gels can be used with the trays or applied directly to the teeth for more effective and long-lasting results. If you’ve tried at-home treatments in the past without success, you may benefit from professional whitening services.
Other treatment options include porcelain veneers, dental crowns and bridges, and composite resin bonding. Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that cover the front of the teeth and correct cosmetic issues such as misalignment, crowding, stains, and chips. Dental crowns and bridges are used to replace missing teeth and restore function. Composite resin bonding is an alternative to porcelain veneers for small chips and cracks.
Inlays and onlays are indirect fillings made of durable materials such as tooth-colored porcelain and gold. They are custom made in a dental lab to perfectly fit the damaged area of the tooth and they preserve more natural tooth structure than a traditional filling.
Patients who undergo cosmetic dentistry treatments are left with beautifully straight, white, and functional smiles. Once your smile is restored, you can enjoy increased self-confidence!

Teeth straightening is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments, and for good reason! Straight teeth look great and they’re also easier to clean and maintain. We offer both traditional braces and Invisalign orthodontic options, so you can choose the one that’s most convenient for you.
Traditional Braces
We use clear brackets and wires to straighten your teeth. Over time, the wires shift the teeth into place. We can adjust them over time to ensure we get the smile you want.
Invisalign
This treatment uses a series of clear plastic aligners to gradually move your teeth into the correct alignment. The aligners are clear, making them nearly invisible when you wear them. Most people find them more comfortable than traditional braces as well. They’re also removable so you can take them out to eat or brush your teeth.
