Dr. Edward Kusek, Dr. Andrew Schuiteman and our team use the latest dental technologies to ensure that you receive the highest possible quality of care when you visit Kusek Family & Implant Dentistry. One of the latest dental technologies that we use is digital x-rays. Digital x-rays are a type of dental technology that allows us to more accurately detect dental problems.
One of the many advantages of digital x-rays is that they expose you to 90 percent less radiation than traditional x-rays. As a result, our team can use digital x-rays to better assess your dental health without exposing you to unnecessary radiation.
The laser used in our dental office is a state-of-the-art dental laser that has many uses, including:
• Removing soft tissue lesions, like cold sores
• Removing soft tissue overgrowth, like gums overgrowing teeth
• Removing decay and bacteria from teeth
• Removing soft tissue folds that trap food and bacteria
• Improving the look of a gummy smile

Dental implants consist of a small titanium post that is placed directly into the jawbone. The post will fuse with the bone over the course of several months, creating a strong bond. Our dentists will custom-design your restoration to match the shape and coloration of your natural teeth. Once the post has healed, your restoration will be secured to the post.
Dental implants provide several important benefits. They prevent your jawbone from deteriorating over time. Traditional tooth replacement options like bridges and dentures do not prevent your jawbone from deteriorating. Dentures also need to be relined every few years. Dental implants, on the other hand, are a permanent solution.
Dr. Edward Kusek, Dr. Andrew Schuiteman and our team use CEREC same-day crowns, which are custom-made to fit over your tooth. These crowns allow us to create beautiful, natural-looking crowns in just one visit.
Guided bone regeneration is a procedure used to correct bone destruction in the jaw. It is most often performed after a tooth is removed, such as to prepare the site for a dental implant. During this procedure, a small barrier is placed between the soft tissue and the area of the bone where bone material will be removed. This barrier encourages bone growth throughout the area without allowing soft tissue to grow into that area.
Once bone material has been removed, a bone graft will be placed in the area. Over time, the bone graft will integrate with the surrounding bone and will help to rebuild the jaw.
Dr. Edward Kusek, Dr. Andrew Schuiteman and our team offer sedation dentistry to our patients. Dental anxiety is extremely common, and it can keep you from getting the treatment that you need. Fortunately, we offer sedation dentistry so you can relax and get the care you need.
Our sedation dentistry options include:
* Laughing gas
* Oral sedation
* IV sedation
If you are interested in sedation dentistry, please call us at 317-257-0076.
Laser gum reshaping, also referred to as gum contouring, is a cosmetic treatment that reshapes the gum line for a more symmetrical smile. If a patient has a “gummy” smile, we can use laser gum reshaping to remove excess gum and create a more pleasing smile.
Dr. Kusek and Dr. Schuiteman and our team are committed to providing unsurpassed dental services and results. CEREC technology allows us to create beautiful, natural-looking crowns in a single visit.
CEREC is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, or CEramic REConstruction, allowing our team to create a restoration while you wait. A digital impression is taken of your tooth and uploaded to the CEREC machine, giving us the ability to create a restoration.
